Removal of a UST consists of using a vacuum truck to pump out any liquid inside the tank. Once pumped, we excavate the ground to the grade level of the tank. We then remove a section of the tank to allow us access to its interior. Once opened, we enter the tank and begin cleaning the sludge from the interior. The tank is then removed with all associated piping and the soil is returned to the previous grade. After inspection* and the tank is taken away for proper disposal, a certificate and manifest will be provided following the completion of the removal.
Under NJ regulations (underground tanks) we are obligated to notify the NJDEP spill hotline if we discover confirmed leakage/spillage to the environment. If the tank has to be removed due to leakage and/or soil contamination, we will discuss any available options with you at the time of the discovery.*Inspection must be done by an authorized town inspector BEFORE the tank can be disposed of.
